Daybook

Outside my window...
There is sun, finally! There are a few small signs of impending spring, and I cannot wait. Cooler temperatures are fine, as long as I have some bright sunshine.

I am thinking...
About the upcoming summer, and what sort of vacations I'd like to take. I really would like to do something fun. Last year's trip to Pittsburgh will be hard to top.

I am thankful...
This is always such a hard prompt, as I feel like I'm fighting being repetitive. Today, I suppose I will say I am thankful for the sun and bright blue skies.

In the kitchen...
I'm alllll about the cottage cheese recently. Reliving childhood faves like pineapple and cottage cheese, applesauce and cottage cheese, and some new savory combos like tomato/cucumber/pepper with basil and Greek dressing.  It's so good, even if it's not the most aesthetically pleasing.

I am wearing...
A navy suit with a bright yellow sweater, because hello spring, I am ready.

I am creating...
Space in my life for daily yoga, even if it's only one small sun salutation at a time. I feel so much better when I stretch a little bit, but it always seems to get bumped on the priority list. Hoping to get back to basics with this.

I am going...
No big plans in the works just yet. Looking more like my fun trips are still a few months out and in the early planning stages.

I am wondering...
About the gardening for the year, and whether I've made a grave mistake starting zucchini seedlings indoors. We're still eating through the frozen remnants from last summer. Oops.

I am reading...
The Widow Clicquot: The Story of a Champagne Empire and the Woman Who Ruled It by Tilar Mazzeo. It's one of those books that I read a bit, put it down, and forget about it for a few months. Interesting, but not a gripping page-turning. Still, it's a fascinating bit of history for the famous champagne house.

I am hoping...
That the last of the snow is behind us. Of course, in saying that, I've doomed us to an April blizzard, I'm sure.

I am looking forward to...
Easter candy. So many peanut butter eggs and chocolate bunnies, just a week away.

I am learning...
Patience. Always patience.

Around the house...
I've been decluttering like mad. Spring cleaning has begun!

I am pondering...
How this prompt is different than "wondering?" I suppose I'll add that I've been mentally creating lists of cherry tomato recipes, as we've planted a large batch of those as well. Hit me up with your favorites - I'm a tomato fiend.

I am praying...
For an increase in self-discipline, as I'm always struggling with telling myself "no." It's tough when you're a grown up, and you have to do it yourself. Sometimes I think it was all much easier when I had parents to tell me what to do. It's hard to say no to all that Easter candy, you know?

A favorite quote for today...
There were no temples or shrines among us save those of nature.
- Charles Eastman

One of my favorite things...
My AquaZinger from Brookstone. I am in love with flavored water. Every day seems a little bit better when I have a cold glass of lemon/cucumber/mint water.

A few plans for the rest of the week:
Slogging through transcripts for work, spring cleaning, and yoga. Anything extra on top of that will be a nice bonus.

A peek into my day...

Choices, choices. Who knew picking a light fixture would be so tricky?
