Seven Quick Takes v. 8

It's that time again! Seven random thoughts floating in my brain this week.

~1~

I cannot stop watching this.

And laughing so, so hard. Like, snorting and everything. I probably should stop watching this at work.

Also, I really want a pug.

~2~

Doesn't this look like the perfect Valentine's Day present to you?

Okay, okay, I promise I won't make this a pug-themed 7QT. Well, mayyyyyybe just one more (hint).

Look at that face!

Speaking of Valentine's Day...

Catholic All Year has some fantastic, gorgeous printables (for free!) to celebrate the holiday. You should check them out and print away. Kendra also makes some great Catholic prayer printables, so if that's your thing, hunt those babies down and print away. Pop it in a frame, and you've got instant art to jazz up a neglected corner of your home.

Since we're talking Catholic stuff, Lent is coming.

If you're like me, you always have grand plans to give up:

BUUUUUT, that never quite works out. I fail, and I feel extra guilty (it's like dieting, with extra Catholic guilt edition!). So, if you can relate, The Catholic Table has a fantastic post on Sacrifice All The Things: The Loser's Guide to Winning at Lent. It's a great look at how to actually observe Lent without going overboard and tries to get at the heart of the season. Because really, Lent isn't a diet, despite my annual attempts to make it so.

That said....

I'm still thinking about doing a Whole 30 for Lent. I'm going to make it through the whole thing one of these days!

So, celebrating Mardi Gras/Fat Tuesday is pretty much mandatory.

I know what I'll be doing on the 17th. Do you?

Just swap out those doughnuts for the best food known to man:

Pączki are an essential part of celebrating Fat Tuesday. Am I Polish? No, but I will gladly fake it for these dense, delicious treats. (Hint: go for the prune filling. No really, it's the best). How can you go wrong with deep fried dough filled with fruit or custard? Seriously, go out to the store and buy a box before they are gone. These are only one a year, like that elusive McD's Shamrock Shake, and are not to be missed!
